Last Patriot Standing An Outpost of Freedom, Individualism and Liberty

In a small victory for liberty, those who possess a concealed-carry permit will be allowed to arm themselves  in businesses that serve alcohol for on-premises consumption unlesss the business owner decides to disallow it and posts the proper signage.  What the AP article by Amanda Lee Myers fails to mention is that this does not only affect holders of Arizona permits.  Because Arizona recognizes the lawfully-issued permits of all other states, anyone who visits Arizona can enjoy themselves in a nice restaurant and not give up their right of self-defense.  According to the law, those who are armed may not drink, and open carry, while legal in most places in Arizona, is still banned from those places serving alcohol.  While not a total victory, this law further cements Arizona’s reputation as one of the best for firearms freedom, and is indicative of the growing numbers and political clout of those who choose to take the protection of themselves, their family and their propery into their own hands.

The AP article is firmly biased against the law, and includes several statements from bar owners voicing ridiculous concerns, like this one:

“Somebody can pull the trigger, then a bullet comes out, and people get hurt and killed,” said Brad Henrich, owner of Shady’s, a popular neighborhood bar that sees occasional minor scuffles. “The idea of anyone coming in with guns in a place that serves alcohol just seems ludicrous.”

Perhaps Mr. Henrich has not read the law, specifically the part about how those who are armed may not drink.  So, in that respect, why would a permit holder be more likely to start randomly shooting at other bar patrons (a total non-event, anyway)?  More stupidity from Mr. Henrich:

“An 8 1/2-by-11-inch sign that says ‘No Firearms Allowed’ and shows a red slash over a gun now hangs next to Henrich’s liquor license. If a bar owner does not post such a state-approved sign, people with concealed weapons are allowed in with their guns.”

He should have put up a sign that says “These premises contain only victims.  We will offer no resistance.”

The sheep continue to separate themselves from the sheepdogs.
